The Academic Accreditation Office (AAO) is a department under the President’s Office established in response to the implementation of the "Macao Higher Education Policies and Regulations" (New Higher Education Law) promulgated by the Macao SAR Government. AAO is mainly responsible for Institutional Quality Audit/Institutional Accreditation of the University and coordinates the faculties/schools/institutes for program accreditation and program review. For instance, the University commissioned the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) to conduct institutional accreditation according to the Guidelines of Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), and was fully accredited in May 2022. The status to self-regulate and offer new programs within the accredited scopes was thus granted. In recent years, several new programs have gone through the program accreditation process and successfully met the accreditation standards, including the programs of Master of Education, Doctor of Education and Ph.D. in Education offered by the University International College; Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering offered by the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering of Faculty of Innovation Engineering; Master of Materials Science and Engineering and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Faculty of Innovation Engineering. In addition, AAO also works together with the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) to coordinate with faculties/schools/institutions to conduct the periodic program reviews in accordance with the guidelines issued by DSEDJ.
In conjunction with QAO, we work to promote quality assurance and enhancement in teaching and learning at the University and to provide appropriate and quality resources and environment for students and teachers to achieve the formulated learning outcomes.
